Ice Skating

Mitch and I took Brett, Emma, and her friend Bella to the Ice Center to go skating. The girls hugged the side of the rink for awhile and then got more confident and ventured out into the flow of things. At first Brett was only going to sit and watch, but after a bit he decided to get skates on and give it a try. After his first lap, he declared that he was a "natural born ice skater" and he never held onto the wall again.

I took a few photos, but since I didn't skate, they are taken through the plexiglass and aren't very good.


Next time Mitch and I will skate also, and I will take along a better camera. This one was my Christmas present (since returned) A Fujimax waterproof camera and as you can see - it took shite photos.

Ah, another Christmas has wrapped. *snort*

 So nice to have all the kids here and Mitch home this year. We are very blessed.

A Christmas Day  wind storm blew through while we were cooking dinner.  The power flickered several times and prompted Mitch to get the generator out, fill it up and make sure it would run if needed.  Thankfully, it wasn't needed.  Wish it had been a snow storm instead :)

 Enjoying some quiet time, while the kids are off enjoying their gifts. Hope you and yours are enjoying the blessings of the season.

A Christmas Tradition

Christmas Day 2009, we tried something a bit different and went to see

We decided to make that a yearly Christmas tradition - finish Christmas dinner and head to the Firehouse Theater, our local movie house, and watch a movie.

 Come Christmas Day 2010 - Mitch was in Africa, so we didn't do a traditional Christmas - as we celebrated over Thanksgiving when he was home on leave.

 Now, Christmas Day 2011, Mitch is home and we ended up going to the movies on Christmas Eve to see

They left the latest Sherlock Holmes open for a third, so we will see - maybe Christmas Day 2013 we can go see the third installment!

I've gotten a bit behind in posting my photos - I have been taking them, I just haven't been good about getting them onto the blog. So here are Days 11 -17's prompts.

Day 11 - Something Fun

This is a little votive holder that I bought and have in my scraproom, just because it was fun to look at!

I took this picture with my iPad, and it didn't get the mountain I was trying to get, but I guess the boats are at a distance, so I'm just going with it.

These are the gorgeous flower baskets that are all around Kingston - these are down at the Marina.

Pretty much my everyday wear, my Nike flip flops. LOVE them!

Not really food, but this is what I had for lunch, a frozen lemonade from Mickey D's. Yummo!

I admit that I am not being very artistic or creative when it comes to these prompts. But I am getting them done - which is HUGE!

Day 10

Prompt for Today - something I made. So today I go old school, very old school, very old vacation bible school to be exact! I made this around 1975 in vacation bible school, I am amazed that it is still in pretty good shape.

Prompt for the day - Faceless Self-Portrait. So you get my feet. As a general rule, I hate feet, but I love socks! This is my current favorite pair of fuzzy socks, although I generally have to fight Emma for them!

Today's prompt - technology.

Day 7

Today the prompt is: something new. This is a new arrangement that my neighbor and friend Ruth brought over as a thank you for all the things we've done for them recently. It is perfect for me, as it will require little care and anyone that knows me, knows that I have a black thumb!

Day 6

Today's prompt is a childhood memory. I immediately thought of this tea set. This is not my photo, as my set is in storage, but this is the exact set that my sister bought me when I was young and that my daughter played with when she was younger.

Today's prompt is someone you love. Well I decided to do three someones that I love, because they were all in one place, at one time, which doesn't happen as often as I would like.

The prompt for today is: favorite color. Mine seems to change alot -but I love this antique looking blue-green.

Today's prompt is clouds, and lucky for me I live in the PNW, and if there is one thing we have plenty of - even in summer - it is clouds. Taken once again with Instagram app on my iPad2. One day I will use a real camera again!
