Boo Hoo

They changed the date of Emma's 1st grade play, and I won't be back from my trip by the new date - boo hoo.  The music teachers brother is graduating that day, and she won't be there.

I told Emma that I guess I should just stay home and see her play - and she gave me a big hug and told me that I deserved to spend time with Dad. So I guess she's okay with it.

Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull

Took the kids to see Indy today - was a good movie. Not awesome - but had some funny parts in it.
The whole Alien thing threw me off - LOL. Kids got freaked out by the giant ants covering that guy and carrying him into the ant hill. But overall - a good time.

Go David Cook!!

I was so afraid that the bubble gum brigade would get David A. voted Idol. But I am so excited that it was my guy David Cook! Rock on!

He sounded awesome with ZZ Top. I fast forwarded through David A.'s song - cause he didn't seem to mesh well with whoever he sang with - I can't even remember now LOL. "The Pipps" were hilarious. Ben Stiller, Jack Black & Robert Downey Jr., what a great idea - Braeden had a hard time wrapping his head around how they did that LOL.

I love the Guitar Hero commercial that David did too - had to tell Braeden what scene they were re-enacting! I didn't like Archie's version though.

I hope we see awesome things from David in the future!


I also loved the final song that David C. sang, the winning song for the Idol Song Writing Contest. It was much better than in years past!

David A. was good last night - but he's still not my guy. David C. didn't do as great a job as I expected him to do - but I still want him to win.

Field Trip Friday

The field trip to the Woodland Park Zoo was fun. Weather was gorgeous - I had a group of 2 kids - one my kid named Brett, and one not my kid named Braeden - so the chaperoning part was easy. Only glitch was that the buses didn't get us to the ferry for the one that would get us back to school about 40 minutes before it let out. So, we had to sit on the bus - and wait for the next one - which got us to the school about 5 minutes after it let out.

You gotta be kidding...

Brett who is 9 wants to play football, and I just got the information for Pee Wee Football registration. It is - wait for it - $120.00 . Can you farkin' believe it?

I sent my passport in for renewal last Monday - and I received the new one back in the mail today! They were saying it would be 4 weeks - so glad I didn't pay an extra $60 for expedited service or the 16.25 for overnight :)

I hate homework!!

Okay, I totally understand parents participating in their young childrens homework. But, I HATE homework.

Emma is in the 1st grade and each month we get a monthly activity calendar, with an activity for every day to complete. Then Emma has to answer some questions on the back, and then I have to answer some questions on the back and return it. I HATE this homework - LOL. Brett had the same teacher 2 years ago - and I HATED this homework then - and I HATE it even more now.

Along with that - we also had to choose a story, read it, then write a script for a play from the story, and act it out. We had to list out props, cast etc. And I had to sign it too.

I HATED that homework so bad that I put it off and it is now late by like 2 weeks - bad, bad, mom. And that homework was in addition to the other 2 sheets that she gets weekly, plus her spelling word practice, her play lines memorization, her Passport Club study and her AR reading.

Did I mention that I HATE homework? Vent over.

Why are all the good things gone?

Stupid TV Executives - that's why.


I just learned that Men in Trees has been cancelled. I loved that show and am gonna miss it. Stupid ABC. Also learned that they cancelled Back To You - another cute show.

What are they gonna replace them with? Some stupid reality TV show like Paris Hiltons search for a BFF well B.F.D.!! I'm not watching it.

OMG! Survivor!

I can't believe that Parvati won - but itsn't it just perfect that her last name is Shallow? LOL!! I was amazed that I hadn't heard a rant from Carrie about it yet! I was shocked.

On another note - I was happy to hear that Ozzy and Amanda are still together. I love Ozzy and he was so sweet and nervous at that final tribal council.
